So you’ve heard about the wonderful world of blogging and you’re ready to take the plunge.
You’re making a comfortable living from your 9-5, but you’re yearning for something more.
Perhaps you want to share your passion with the world.
Perhaps you want to teach others how to do what you do.
Perhaps you want to generate an second income stream.
Whatever the reason, you are ready…
But you don’t know where to start!
It’s all so confusing. Social media, web hosting, advertising, design, domain names, email lists… The list is endless!
The shear thought of the tech side of things makes you want to give up before even trying.
What you need is a blogging education
My name is Benjamin Oberholzer, and I’m humbled to tell you that I had those exact same thoughts a year ago.
My engineering 9-5 supported me well (still does, by the way) and I enjoyed the work. But something was missing…
I yearned for something more ME. Something I built from the ground up. Some sort of business venture I could call my own. And blogging seemed to be the perfect fit.
But just like you, I had no idea how. Although an engineer by trade, I was clueless about WordPress, Google ads, social media marketing, etc. There was so much to learn!
So I started educating myself.
I listened to hundreds of podcast episodes, read dozens of books, and poured over thousands of online articles. Over the course of one year I had built up a feel for the online world, and I was ready to implement that knowledge and start my own blog.
I started a blog teaching Microsoft Excel, and something took light inside of me. This was MY platform. MY way of talking to the world. Some place I could call home and change up like I wanted it to be. It was exhilarating!
But soon I noticed how others around me were looking for the same information. After having helped 3 friends to set up their own blogs, I realised that I was onto something here.
And so BloggingDegree.com was started
I created this blog in February 2017 as a free resource to teach the art of blogging to the masses, especially those who want to start a part-time side hustle on top of their 9-5 jobs.
I want to teach you all you need to know to get your blog up and running:
- Setting up the tech side
- Writing your first post
- Getting traffic (free and paid)
- Laying out your blog for maximum effectiveness
- And much more!
If you want to start your blog, join the 5-Day Blog Starters Challenge – a series of emails that will prompt you to do something small every day for 5 days, all geared towards starting your own blog.
